Tvakshats(2nd years) make a field trip to Le Corbusier's Chandigarh - 3rd to 8th Feb 2012 while at the same time Archions(3rd years) make a trip to Mumbai and Goa.

2nd years, guided by Prof. Saikat Kumar Paul and Prof. Haimanti Banerji, as a part of their design development delved into the city's past and made a detailed study of the city's planning principles and evolution. A major emphasis being on the organizational principles of the city, that make it to be known as a 'planned' city, they started from Le Corbusier's Office followed by a walk about a few first sectors, markets, parks and other public places. The exposed concrete material and repetitive facade elements of major buildings that unite the entire city had an imprint on their expeditionary minds. A formal visit to the Capitol Complex, High Court, Free hand Monument and Gandhi Bhavan opened up their minds to the play of light and apertures in manipulating a space. Nek Chand's Rock Garden was another awe inspiring piece of art where they witnessed trivial materials turned to beauty.

Though it used to be a lot of 'funda' and documentation during the day, their evenings at the dorms in Kishan Bhavan and Sector23 markets were fun filling.

The result was an acquaintance with an exquisite example of urban planning and a lot of experiments with photography!
